Work From Anywhere: 10 Highest-Paying Remote Jobs and How to Get Hired
Work-from-anywhere roles are increasingly appealing to professionals who want the freedom to live, travel, or relocate without being tied to a specific workplace.
While many remote jobs still require employees to remain within certain regions due to legal and tax considerations, a smaller category of positions allows individuals to work entirely remotely from any country or time zone.

FlexJobs career expert Toni Frana describes these roles as offering exceptional flexibility, though they demand a proven ability to maintain high performance in independent, remote environments.
In a report published on January 27, FlexJobs reviewed data from over 60,000 companies in its 2025 database to determine where such opportunities are most prevalent. The analysis identified five key sectors leading in work-from-anywhere roles: computer and IT, marketing, project management, communications, and operations.
Jobs that rely heavily on digital tools and deliverables—such as software engineering and data analysis—are particularly suited for asynchronous work. However, roles involving direct client interaction, like account management and social media management, can also be effectively managed across multiple locations.
FlexJobs also outlined the job titles with the greatest availability of work-from-anywhere roles, alongside average salaries from Payscale:
1. AI Engineer — $134,047
2. Product Manager — $100,142
3. Software Engineer — $97,382
4. Account Manager — $95,956
5. Product Designer — $95,807
6. Project Manager — $82,878
7. Data Analyst — $70,011
8. Social Media Manager — $60,254
9. Content Writer — $58,371
10. Sales Development Representative — $51,130
The popularity of remote work continues to climb, with 58% of workers indicating a preference for fully remote arrangements in the past year, according to Frana.
However, fully location-independent roles remain rare. Only 5% of remote job postings in 2025 meet this criterion. Most of these positions are geared toward professionals with significant experience—77% are classified as experienced roles, 20% fall under management, and just 3% are entry-level.
Due to their limited availability, these roles attract intense competition. Frana advises job seekers to prioritize quality over quantity when applying, ensuring each application is specifically tailored to the role.
Highlighting previous remote work experience is also essential, along with demonstrating skills that translate well in remote settings, including strong communication, effective organization, and adaptability.
Ultimately, candidates who clearly differentiate themselves through relevant experience and targeted applications stand a better chance of securing these sought-after global remote roles.
