‎Bentley Unveils Supersports as CEO Highlights Market Uncertainty and Rising Demand From Younger Luxury Buyers

‎Bentley introduced the Supersports, a lightweight, high-performance version of the Continental GT coupe, during an event in New York City’s Chelsea district. The debut drew a noticeably younger and more urban audience, signaling a shift in the luxury automaker’s evolving customer base.
‎Bentley launches the high-performance Supersports as CEO Frank-Steffen Walliser cites ongoing market uncertainty and growing interest from younger buyers.
‎Bentley
‎The Supersports features a stripped-down design built around carbon-fiber elements and a twin-turbo V8 engine. The model offers rear-wheel drive and omits hybrid technology, unlike most vehicles in Bentley’s current range. Pricing has not been announced, though expectations place it above the $350,000 starting price of the highest-trim Continental GT.
‎Customer orders for the Supersports will open in March 2026, with initial deliveries planned for 2027. CEO Frank-Steffen Walliser, who previously held leadership roles at Porsche, emphasized the car’s appeal to younger, affluent drivers and its alignment with Bentley’s performance heritage.
‎The company showcased the Supersports at Monterey to its traditional clientele, who responded positively to the concept. Bentley expects all 500 units to sell out when production begins. Walliser described the vehicle as a product that resonates across a broad customer base and represents a “step change” for the brand.
‎Bentley’s buyer demographic has expanded in recent years, with more young and female customers entering the fold. Walliser attributed this shift to deliberate brand strategy and product planning.
‎The luxury automaker continues to navigate an economic environment marked by persistent uncertainty. Walliser noted that cautious sentiment among longstanding clients remains, particularly in the US, Europe, and China. He said that despite the macroeconomic backdrop, offering the right products remains a priority.
‎Bentley has refreshed its entire lineup over the past two years, integrating hybrid options across the Bentayga SUV, Continental models, and Flying Spur sedans. The Bentayga Speed is also available with a non-hybrid powertrain, expanding choices for buyers and supporting steady demand.
