Donald Trump Says He’s 'Glad' Robert Mueller Has Died

‎Donald Trump publicly celebrated the death of Robert Mueller on Saturday, posting that he was “glad” the former FBI director and special counsel had passed away.
‎“Robert Mueller just died. Good, I’m glad he’s dead. He can no longer hurt innocent people!” Trump wrote on Truth Social shortly after MS Now reported the passing of the 81-year-old former FBI Director.

‎Mueller, who revealed last year that he had Parkinson’s disease, had long been a target of Trump’s attacks. While Mueller’s investigation did not conclude that Trump’s 2016 campaign actively coordinated with Russian entities attempting to influence the election, the probe cast a shadow over much of Trump’s first term. It led to multiple indictments, resulting in eight guilty pleas and convictions at trial for high-profile Trump associates, including political operative Roger Stone and campaign adviser George Papadopoulos.
‎Trump consistently criticized Mueller during and after the investigation, accusing the lifelong public servant of participating in an illegal Democratic effort to remove him from office. Similar allegations have been aimed at former Special Counsel Jack Smith, who oversaw Justice Department inquiries into Trump’s attempts to overturn the 2020 election results and the hoarding of classified documents at Mar-a-Lago after his presidency.
‎This is not the first instance in which Trump has celebrated the death of those he perceives as enemies. In December, following the death of filmmaker Rob Reiner, a frequent Trump critic, the president made light of the situation, attributing it to an “incurable” case of “Trump Derangement Syndrome.”
